Ever since Islam Slimani left Sporting CP, his career has been a struggle, first falling out of favour at Leicester, followed by consecutive failures to capitalise on loans at Newcastle and Fenerbahce.

Still contracted to the Turkish side until the end of the season, the striker is trying to get himself out of his deal, although the Foxes have appeared reluctant to let that happen, probably through fear of being stuck with him for the second half of the season.

However, that could all change if Algerie360 are to be believed, as Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia are making a comeback.

Already reportedly interested in the summer, the Jorge Jesus managed club are believed to be readying a new attempt in signing the player in January, hoping to bolster their frontline for the second half of the season.

There’s talk of ‘great interest’ in the Leicester loanee, but competition from his former side, Sporting CP, still needs to be death with.

This is the first we’ve seen of Al-Hilal’s return on the scene, but we’ll be keeping an eye on things, just in case it grows into something bigger in the next few days.
