Despite this summer looking like the one where Emerson Palmieri could find himself a new club, everyone who wants him are struggling to make a decision.

The Chelsea player is currently wanted by both Napoli, where Luciano Spalletti would happily work with him again, and Lyon in Ligue 1, who are desperate for a new left-back, and yet neither have made the first move.

Talks have been held, but, according to Foot Mercato, the French club are unable to decide whether they want Emerson Palmieri or Paris Saint-Germain’s Layvin Kurzawa.

The website explain their thought process, revealing that their first attempt to sign the PSG player saw them balk at his wage demands, which led them to the Chelsea defender.

However, ‘matters aren’t simple on that file either’, since they are facing the competition out of Naples, meaning Lyon are ‘fumbling’ and recently relaunched the Kurzawa avenue, with negotiations ‘heading in the right direction’.

It’s all a bit gutting for the Chelsea man, who has made it clear he would like to leave Stamford Bridge this summer if he can, and we’ll have to wait and see what comes of it in the coming week or so.
