Feyenoord are ‘eyeing the arrival’ of Brighton & Hove Albion youngster Antef Tsoungui this summer as he looks set to become available on a free.

That’s according to 1908.nl, who say the Dutch champions are working on a deal for the 20-year-old defender as they look to bolster their squad for next season.

The website explains that Feyenoord are familiar with Tsoungoui and vice versa, with him having played against the Dutch club when Brighton’s Under 21 side took on their counterparts from Feyenoord last October.

That duel ended in a 2-0 win for the English side, with Tsoungui part of a defence that kept a clean sheet in the game and seemingly catching the eye.

The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Lommel SK but that move was ended by March as the two parties decided it wasn’t working out.

He is now set for a permanent departure from Brighton and his ‘future may lie with Feyenoord’, who see a chance to ‘strike’ in the transfer window and secure a youngster for the future.

Indeed, their plan may be to sign him and then loan him out to a satellite club, allowing him to ‘revive his career’ before potentially becoming a first-team star in future.
