After being left out of Antonio Conte’s plans at Tottenham Hotspur, Harry Winks waited until the end of the summer window to seal a loan move to Sampdoria.

The midfielder has not made an appearance this term and remains a ‘mysterious object’ for the Serie A side.

That’s according to SampNews24.com, who state the Tottenham owned player’s ankle problem needs to be resolved.

Dejan Stanković, who replaced Marco Giampaolo a month ago, wants to know whether he can count on the 26-year-old.

The report says ‘it’s time for decisions’ over Winks because the Italian club cannot wait any longer.

Sampdoria are ‘increasingly convinced of having to sit at the table’ with Tottenham to ‘re-discuss’ the terms of the loan deal that they agreed with Spurs in the summer.

Winks, for his part, wants to continue at Sampdoria so that he can work to make himself available for selection in January.

At the same time, a decision must be taken on whether the Spurs man should undergo a surgery or opt for a ‘conservative therapy’. If he were to opt for the former, he is expected to be out for three to four months.

In the case of a conservative therapy, the outlet states it is necessary to understand why the treatments received so far have not worked and then find a way that will allow Winks to recover.
