Fortuna Düsseldorf are ‘calmly taking note’ of the ‘great interest’ in Jamil Siebert, who has been linked Nottingham Forest and several other clubs.

That’s according to Rheinische Post, relayed by Fussball Transfers, who cover the situation around the player today.

Siebert has been impressing while on loan with third division side Viktoria Koln this season, who he joined from Düsseldorf in the summer.

He’s been a regular since then, with 14 appearances in the 3. Liga so far and 75% of the available minutes under his belt.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with recent reports indicating that both Roma and Nottingham Forest would like to sign him in the January transfer window.

Earlier this week we covered a report from Kicker outlining the interest from Nottingham Forest, which included comments from his agent confirming than an offer had been made.

It seems, though, that the player’s agent may have been jumping the mark, as according to Fortuna’s sporting director Christian Weber, there is nothing new to report.

“From our side, there is actually no new status to report,” he is quoted as saying.

“Jamil still has a contract with us, we have agreed a loan until the end of the season with Viktoria Koln, which will certainly continue.

“So far, the clubs mentioned have not contacted us or even enquired about him. We assume that he will return in the summer, which was the idea we discussed with him.”
