Tottenham Hotspur’s chase for Barcelona winger Memphis Depay is a rumour which had a considerable growth in the past week.

It was first claimed Spurs ‘asked’ about the potential signing, and then said the London side were ‘in position to pay’ €20m for the transfer.

It turns out that even though there is no big news on the effort made by the London side to sign the Dutchman, we now see interesting updates from Spain regarding the player’s situation at the Camp Nou.

Journalist Gerard Romero today writes that Barcelona ‘have asked to remove’ pictures of Memphis Depay in their promotional advertising for their American pre-season tour.

Covering the news, AS writes that Barça boss Xavi ‘doesn’t count on Depay’ for the season, meaning the Catalan club are now willing to make a sale, setting his price at €25m.

It’s still unclear if Tottenham will indeed offer that much to get the signing done, but if they’re keen on it, this seems like the perfect timing, not only because of that new attitude, but especially because of Barcelona’s need for money.
