Manchester City are planning a partnership in Mexican football, according to reports from the local media on Friday.
Newspaper Record says the Premier League side are getting to an agreement with Cafetaleros de Chiapas, who currently play in the second division.
With the help of hotel companies, the club are currently moving to the paradisical city of Cancún, and could even change its name in the process.
Manchester City’s plan would be to ‘contribute’ to the Mexican club to help them get to the first division by investing on their players.
“As part of the aforementioned international sports project of Manchester City in our country, mainly in Caribbean lands, the franchise that will be participating would be Cafetaleros de Chiapas formalizing its change of venue and name”, a source told Record.
Of course this sounds like a plan from the City Group, who already have New York City in the United States and Montevideo City Torque in Uruguay.
However, the story always refers to ‘Manchester City’ instead of naming the investment group.
