Liverpool goalkeeper Adrián has insisted he and his teammates’ want to continue making history’ after securing the club’s first league title in 30 years.

Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions for the first time on Thursday evening as Manchester City’s defeat to Chelsea ensured they can no longer catch the Reds at the top of the table.

It was a long waited moment of relief for Liverpool, who have led from the front this season and currently enjoy a 23 point lead at the top of the league.

Their success is the earliest the title has ever been won, despite, technically, being the latest title success ever, adding to the impressive nature of the achievement.

With eight games left to go there is little left for the club to play for, having already been knocked out of the Champions League and domestic cup competitions.

There, is, however, the chance to set several records, including a highest ever points tally, something Adrián says Liverpool are keen to do.

“Surely the time has come to celebrate this historic title with the fans, that cannot be overlooked,” he told Radio Marca.

“The great key to this team is the bond Klopp has created since he arrived.

“I think that last year the team was left with the regret of not having been able to win the Premier and that has been noticed this year.

“Life has given the club back something it deserved. We want to continue making history; we want to surpass 100 points and continue enjoying these beautiful moments.”
