Ajax have decided to allow Antony join Manchester United in the final week of the summer window, according to claims from the Netherlands.

Earlier on Sunday, we covered claims made in Brazil that the Red Devils have not given up on the winger since he is keen to make a switch to Old Trafford.

It was also explained the 22-year-old will demand the Eredivisie winners let him leave soon so that he can seal a move to Manchester United.

The Brazil international’s request seems to have been accepted by the club if @Hamstelaar, who covers Ajax, is to be believed. He took to Twitter to state ‘Antony is gone’.

This claim is also backed up by Dutch journalist Bart Sanders. He is also stating that ‘Antony is sold’ for a reported fee of €99m.

Antony’s firm desire to join Manchester United has seen him left out of Ajax squad to face FC Utrecht. Prior to kick-off today, Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder said there has been no changes to the South American’s situation.

“The situation is the same. We discuss this internally, also with the player. The situation has not changed. He was at the club, we talked about it. But other than that, I mainly want to focus on the guys who are there,” Schreuder told ESPN NL, relayed by Voetbal International.
