Thriving under Frank Lampard at Swansea last season, it really wasn’t a surprise to see Tammy Abraham have a big role at Chelsea when the club legend took over from Maurizio Sarri.

What has been perhaps a bit more eyebrow raising is how easily he has adapted to the Premier League, with an impressive goalscoring record to show for it.

The 21-year-old already has seven goals in six Premier League games this season, which adds up to around a goal every 58 minutes, and it could have been Milan who reaped these benefits instead of the Stamford Bridge club.

At least, that’s what TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting on Tuesday, claiming the young forward was offered to the Serie A side over the summer, who felt he was ‘not up to par’ due to his lack of experience at a ‘big club’ and therefore turned him down.

It would be interesting to know when this proposal was made, as it certainly won’t have happened after Frank Lampard’s takeover, suggesting it might have been during the Sarri era, when the Italian would have had no use for the young forward going into this season.

And with Abraham now seemingly on the verge of getting a new contract at the London club, he looks set to stay at Stamford Bridge for many years to come.
