For the past few weeks, various claims from the English press stated Chelsea are looking at Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
This is discussed in Italy by Calciomercato.it, who provide their own information on this case.
It’s claimed Chelsea have identified the winger as the transfer target and are ‘ready to do crazy things’ to secure his services next summer.
The Georgia international managed 14 goals and 17 assists last season and was one of the key figures in helping the Naples club win the title. This saw him receive interest from elsewhere in the last window, but the Italian champions were able to retain him.
The 22-year-old is still on the agenda of clubs in England and Spain, and the report states Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis could find it difficult to retain him beyond this season.
Apart from Chelsea, the outlet mention Real Madrid and Manchester City, as these two clubs could take part in the race for the player.
Despite this, Calciomercato.it state the Blues are in the ‘front row to reach an agreement with Napoli’ for Kvaratskhelia. They add the Serie A side could listen to proposals for him, as they long as they exceed €100m.
This would suggest Chelsea could be ready to invest big to agree a deal with Napoli for the attacker. However, the report makes no mention of whether the Georgian favours a move to the west London club.
