Olivier Giroud’s current deal at Chelsea runs out in 2020.

The France international’s contract situation, coupled with limited playing time under Frank Lampard this season, has seen him being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in January.

Over the past few days, Inter Milan have been credited with an interest in the striker after Alexis Sánchez’s latest injury setback. The Chilean, who is on loan from Manchester United, will be out of action for the next few months.

On October 16th, we carried a report from Calciomercato, who explained Giroud’s name is underlined by the Nerazzurri and they also stated the Blues could favour a sale in January.

The same website once again claims the 32-year-old remains a transfer ‘idea’ for Antonio Conte’s side, but go on to add it will be ‘complicated’ to get him out of Chelsea.

Calciomercato have done a u-turn here. They report the west London club want to retain Giroud because of their transfer ban.
