Olivier Giroud has found it difficult to find regular playing time at Chelsea as Frank Lampard has preferred Tammy Abraham to lead the Blues’ attack this season.

FcInterNews reported on Tuesday the France international’s name emerged on a list of targets at Inter Milan following Alexis Sánchez’s latest injury setback.

Calciomercato brings the latest update and the report’s headline reads ‘Giroud is an opportunity for Inter’.

It’s claimed Antonio Conte was left disappointed by the club’s failure to sign Edin Džeko from AS Roma as it has left a gap in the squad.

He wants Inter to strengthen the squad by signing an attacker in January and among the profiles considered so far, Giroud’s name is underlined.

France coach Didier Deschamps admitted the former Arsenal striker “suffers because of his situation” at Chelsea and the player is aware his place in the national team for Euro 2020 is at risk.

With his contract set to expire after this season, Calciomercato claims Chelsea could favour a sale in January to raise some cash.

A Chelsea extension option isn’t mentioned.

Inter are one of the clubs looking at Giroud because of his physical and technical characteristics, and he can be used as a backup to Lukaku or as a partner to the Belgian.
