Trevoh Chalobah was linked with a move away from Chelsea in the last two windows but no deal took shape.

The defender is still at the west London club and has recovered from a thigh injury that forced him to miss the first half of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino included the 24-year-old in the squad for the first time this season in Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Monday, and this seems to have pleased a few Serie A sides as Calciomercato state they have always been in the background for the centre-back.

AS Roma thought about him in the winter market, before José Mourinho’s exit while AC Milan and Inter Milan have also looked at Chalobah and continue to be in the picture for him.

If the player can ‘provide guarantees’ on a physical level, he could have many suitors. The Englishman can be used in the middle of the defence or as a right-back, and his versatility can ‘make him come back into fashion’ for the two Milan clubs in the summer.

Calciomercato say Inter and Milan will be ‘in the front row’, especially if Chelsea are willing to let him leave on a loan deal.

Down his end, Chalobah has a ‘great desire for redemption’, and if he can’t achieve it with the Blues, he may consider a move to Italy.
