Daniele Rugani is back in the Italian media, for several reasons.

Mainly, it’s down to the player’s father taking to social media and expressing a frustration with the defender’s situation.

Rugani only has 180 minutes in Serie A so far this season and in the Champions League he’s managed 1. Yes, one, a single, solitary, minute.

That he’d be annoyed with this is understood throughout the Italian media, mainly because Juventus prevented him from joining Chelsea during the summer window. Thursday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport covers it, and so does Tuttosport.

It’s explained that a renewal was the plan, but may be under question, especially given his father’s quotes. Rugani is now 24 years of age and probably sick of being told he’ll be Juve’s future.

There’s no guarantee the club won’t simply buy someone else when the time comes, and Rugani could be forgiven for thinking he’s undervalued in Turin.

Tuttosport reference Chelsea’s offer, which was €45m plus bonuses. And they go on to say the Blues remain in ‘first place’ to sign him.

In Italy there’s interest from AS Roma and both Milan clubs, but the Maurizio Sarri connection (they worked together at Empoli) will likely be helpful for Chelsea.
