It’s now time for the German media to bring some news on the talks between Chelsea and Manchester City for the transfer of Cole Palmer.

Since Borussia Dortmund have also been interested in the 21-year-old, Sport 1 journalist Patrick Berger comes up to Twitter with fresh updates on this battle.

According to the reporter, Chelsea are ‘now pushing’ to get Palmer signed from Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side rejected an initial bid for the move, as their request is of around €40m.

Chelsea may not have matched that yet, but their move was apparently enough to scare Borussia Dortmund out of the competition.

Berger writes that the Bundesliga side had targeted Palmer for a ‘long time’, but with the Blues now involved in the race, the German club have ‘no chances anymore’.

Now it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will place a convincing offer on the table. Palmer has a contract with Manchester City until 2026, and despite the three appearances he had for the club this season, he only has ten minutes played in the Premier League.
