If reports from Spain are to be believed, then the change of ownership cannot come soon enough for Chelsea.

That’s because their current situation, with the sanctions placed on Roman Abramovich effectively placing them under a transfer ban, could see them lose out on players they were once favourite to sign.

One of the names in that situation is Aurélien Tchouameni, whom Marca believe is now between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

There was a point where Chelsea were firmly in the race, with the Spanish outlet even claiming the Blues were the ‘best placed’ to land the France international.

That all changed when sanctions were imposed on their owner, and the idea of a move to Chelsea ‘seems to be a discarded destination’.

That’s why the change of ownership, which is in the process of happening, with at least six groups having placed a bid in time to buy the club, would need to be finalised quickly and efficiently for Thomas Tuchel and his men to have a chance on the transfer market going forward.

Otherwise, Chelsea will see more players they might have wanted to sign come and go, among which could end up being Tchouameni.
