Kristoffer Ajer is ready to leave Celtic this summer, and AC Milan are one of several clubs that are set to make their move for him.

The Italian side ‘keep following’ the Norwegian defender, who has ‘bewitched’ the club’s scouts according to Calciomercato.

They are ready to make their move for him and have already held contact with his entourage about a potential move.

The replies have been positive, with the player indicating he is ready to leave Celtic and Scotland after four years and ‘attempt the big jump’.

So far there has been no contact or negotiation with Celtic about a potential move, but they may have to move quickly as there is competition from several other clubs, as Ajer has ‘convinced everyone’ of his ability with his performances for the Scottish Premiership champions.

Leicester City are chief among them and have ‘moved decisively’ to reunite manager Brendan Rodgers with a player he worked alongside at Celtic.

He could prove decisive in the player’s decision, with the pair enjoying a healthy relationship from their time together at Parkhead.

There is not only them, however, with sources in Spain suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Real Madrid are all also tracking the Celtic star.

In other words, the competition for his signature is ‘fierce’ at this moment in time, and Celtic are ‘rubbing their hands’ at the prospect of an auction for their player.

They have set a minimum €25m asking price for the 22-year-old, although there is every chance that price can rise if all of his suitors get involved.

Leicester seem very likely to be a part of that, having chased a new centre back since selling Harry Maguire to Manchester United last summer.

It seems, though, they will have to move sooner rather than later to secure the Norway international ahead of numerous competition.
