By now, you’ll be fully aware about how successful Fikayo Tomori’s loan from Chelsea to Milan has been.

There were a couple of shaky performances here and there along the way, but for the most part, Tomori has been integral to the club’s good form and push for Champions League football.

That’s why the €28m purchase clause negotiated in January with Chelsea is looking extremely enticing, and there’s a very good chance that Milan will trigger it in the coming month.

Gazzetta dello Sport look at some of the deals the Serie A side might do ahead of the upcoming transfer window, and Tomori is high up on their list.

Qualifying for the Champions League would be the ideal scenario, but ‘plans would change’ if they failed to do so, although that wouldn’t be the case for this one.

Regardless of whether they achieve that, however, ‘Tomori can still be redeemed from Chelsea, as long as the player agrees to remain in a team that does not play the most important European competition’.

The belief is that he would, especially since Milan have ‘treated him so well’, giving him a large number of minutes from the off.

That’s why Tomori’s purchase ‘is the first goal of the coaching staff who found this long-forgotten boy at Chelsea’.
