Turning to Bobby Reid for a lot of their goals this season, Bristol City have taken it upon themselves to bring in another striker for the second half of the campaign, according to Le Bien Public in France.

The local French newspaper, via their reporter Louis Quesnot, claim the Carabao Cup semi-finalists are on the verge of signing Lois Diony on loan until the summer.

Bought from Dijon after an impressive season in Ligue 1, the 25-year-old has failed to find the back of the net in 17 appearances for Saint-Etienne so far, and a decision has been made that a spell elsewhere could do him the world of good.

Furthermore, Le Bien Public report that Bristol City will have the chance to make the move permanent if they so wish, as a view to buy clause will be inserted in the deal.

The wording suggests this could happen very quickly, with Diony leaving Saint-Etienne just six months after joining them.

We’ll have to wait and see if this is the right move for him, but, at this stage, anything is better than staying at a club where he isn’t wanted anymore.

Perhaps the Robins will be able to help him turn things around.
