Brighton & Hove Albion continue to be named as one of the main contenders to sign of Ezequiel Fernandez from Boca Juniors.

This time, it’s Argentine outlet Bolavip who hves a story about the clubs competing to land the 21-year-old.

They claim Brighton are ‘specialists’ in recruiting young talents and say that, unlike Benfica, the Seagulls still haven’t made an offer for the transfer yet.

The English side reportedly ‘shown intention’ to do that in the January transfer window.

It’s recalled that Alexis Mac Allister was once asked about an Argentine footballer he’d take to Brighton, and said Fernandez.

Brighton just need to be aware of the big competition there’s been for his signing, as Benfica, AC Milan and Liverpool are all said to be interested as well.

The Seagulls had already been linked to the player back in September, when they were labelled as a ‘solid option’ for him, and he’s expected to cost at least €20m.

Boca Juniors are about to play a Copa Libertadores final, and that could have a big impact on how much he’ll leave for.
