Boca Juniors’ Ezequiel Fernández has attracted the attention of several European clubs, including Brighton & Hove Albion.

That’s according to Fichajes.net, who state the Seagulls ‘want to sign’ the 21-year-old, who can be used both as a defensive and a central midfielder.

Fernández was on loan at Club Atlético Tigre last year, where he made 43 appearances, and that’s helped him to feature regularly for Boca Juniors this year. He’s now attracted interest from other clubs and only Brighton are mentioned in the report.

It’s said Roberto De Zerbi’s side are ‘willing to make an offer’ to acquire the Argentine’s services. There’s no mention of the fee the English club would be willing to table for the player, who has a contract lasting until December 2025.

Taking Brighton’s record for developing young talents into account, the report states they are presented as a ‘solid option’ for Fernández.

Boca Juniors, for their part, are attentive to the offers they could receive for the player, and the website adds that they will request at least €20m to part ways with Fernández in January.

Even though Fichajes.net say the midfielder’s departure from the club ‘seems imminent’, there’s no suggestion of talks at this stage.
