Earlier on Tuesday, we covered the news that West Ham United had held positive talks with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a transfer for Hugo Ekitike.

It was a report full of hope, since Tim Steidten had clearly walked away having impressed everyone with his spiel, including the player’s agents.

One of the main issues for West Ham in all this, however, was the competition, including that of Eintracht Frankfurt, but that appears to have been dismissed, at least partially, by Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The reason for that is the Bundesliga club currently have Randal Kolo Muani under contract, who is a target for Paris Saint-Germain.

There has been talk of the Ligue 1 side potentially using Ekitike as part of a swap deal, and with Frankfurt having some interest in the former Stade de Reims starlet, it could have caused problem for West Ham.

The good news for the Hammers, though, is that Eintracht still want to get €100m for Kolo Muani and are ‘not interested in a possible swap deal’ involving the Paris Saint-Germain forward.

This means that with West Ham willing to satisfy everyone with their money, they will have an advantage over the rest of the competition.
