On Tuesday, A Bola reported Tottenham Hotspur have a new round of talks scheduled with Sporting for Pedro Porro as they are getting closer to paying his €45m clause.

Record on Wednesday explain the north London club will meet the Lions today to close the deal for the right-back.

After several unsuccessful attempts from Tottenham, they have ‘promised’ to pay the price quoted in the 23-year-old’s clause. If Spurs were to pay Porro’s €45m release clause, there is nothing Sporting can do to stop him from leaving in January.

The Spaniard came off the bench in the 77th minute in his side’s Taça da Liga semi-final victory over Arouca yesterday. Record state this was the first big sign his transfer to Spurs is ‘imminent’.

Rúben Amorim’s side have sealed a berth in the cup final scheduled to take place on Saturday.

The fullback’s inclusion in the squad for the weekend tie is by ‘no means assured’ after Tottenham’s new attack to sign him.

Should Porro complete a move to Spurs, a deal worth €5m gross per year is waiting for him at the north London club.

Don’t be surprised if Tottenham offer to pay the full €45m, but don’t want to do so in one payment… therefore not actually triggering the clause.
