Earlier on Tuesday, we covered a claim from the Italian media that Nicolo Zaniolo would be in England on Wednesday to undergo a medical ahead of his transfer to Aston Villa.

It was said the Villans and Galatasaray had reached an agreement for the transfer, but there is still a bit of work to be done behind the scenes before it’s all official.

That’s what Calciomercato are reporting on Tuesday, claiming that Aston Villa and the Turkish club are ‘in constant contact for the exchange of documents’ as they try and sort out the ‘final details’ of the transfer.

They corroborate the news that Zaniolo’s flight to England is scheduled for Wednesday, after which he will be subjected to the customary health checks before signing his contact at Villa Park.

In fact, the belief is that, if everything goes smoothly, he ‘could be available’ for Aston Villa’s next game in the Premier League, which will be against Everton.

The aim there would be to put the 5-1 defeat against Newcastle behind them, while Everton will want to do the same after losing their opening game of the campaign to Fulham.
