Aston Villa are keen on PSV Eindhoven duo Ibrahmic Sangaré and Noni Madueke in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Voetbal International and their journalist Marco Timmer, who spotted Villans boss Steven Gerrard watching Leicester City’s clash with PSV in the Europa Conference League this week.

Gerrard was noticed at the game by fans at the game earlier this week, with English reports then stating he was watching the PSV duo.

That was later dismissed by some, who pointed out that Gerrard was likely scouting Leicester ahead of his side’s trip to the King Power Stadium on 23rd April.

It seems, though, Timmer and Voetbal International believe he was there on a scouting mission.

According to the journalist, Sangaré and Madueke ‘can count on the interest’ of Aston Villa this summer after Gerrard was spotted at the stadium.

VI pick up on that and say Gerrard was not in the stands ‘for nothing’ but was there specifically to watch Sangaré and Madueke.

It’s not the first time the two have had interest from the Premier League, with Newcastle trying to sign the Ivorian in January but PSV dismissing the idea out of hand. Now, however, he has ‘played himself into the spotlight’ at Aston Villa.

Madueke, meanwhile, has been attracting interest from around Europe with his performances this season and can now ‘look forward’ to the interest of Villa as well.

Whether Gerrard does go for either player, or indeed both, remains to be seen, but it appears he took time out this week to scout both, which is now being taken as a clear indication of their interest.
