There’s no denying that Jude Bellingham is one of the greatest talents England have produced in recent years.

The 19-year-old is the star of the show at Borussia Dortmund these days despite his young age, and his performances for both club and England have attracted attention from the Premier League.

Liverpool have often been linked, as the Reds could do with a player like Bellingham in their midfield; an area in their squad often seen as a bit light in personnel these days.

They signed Arthur Melo on loan on the final day of the summer transfer window following an injury to Jordan Henderson, but the feeling is, despite a clause to make the move permanent if they so wish, the Brazilian is merely a stop gap.

Liverpool will be watching Bellingham, like everyone else currently is in Europe, and Cadena SER in Spain believe the Reds might have an advantage.

The information comes via their journalist, Pacojo, who revealed that Real Madrid ‘would have a preferential option’ for the midfielder thanks to their ‘good relationship with the German club’.

That means that if the Bundesliga side were to receive two offers that were the same from Liverpool and Real Madrid, ‘they would sell him’ to their La Liga counterparts.

While that’s all well and good, the player’s say in all this isn’t forgotten, as the journalist does add that, ‘as of now, he is more inclined to play for Liverpool’, which is certainly an advantage in the Anfield side’s favour.

This all means, if true, that the Reds might have to offer that little bit more than Real Madrid if they are to stand a chance of getting the former Birmingham starlet down the line.
