Barcelona newspaper Sport don’t often cover Leeds United transfers, but then the Championship club don’t often sign players from Catalan clubs.
Saturday’s edition of Sport reports that Adrian Balboa (what a name!) has been taking part in training with Leeds United, with a view to a transfer. Balboa is pictured at Leeds United and there’s optimism a deal could be reached soon.
Playing in the youth ranks of Barcelona club U.D. Unificación Bellvitge, Balboa is a ‘sensation’, say Sport, and is top scorer in his category.
After a week with Leeds United, the feelings are said to be positive, and ‘in the coming days’ it will be decided whether the club sign Balboa or not.
Pep Clotet is the man pushing the potential deal, and Sport say Garry Monk’s second in command has been impressed with what he’s seen so far from Balboa. The youngster will now get a chance to play in a friendly for Leeds United’s youth ranks, and he’ll hope his performance clinches a deal.
