Barcelona are interested in signing Gabriel Jesus, according to claims from the Brazilian media on Tuesday night.

Globo Esporte says the Catalan side want the Manchester City striker to replace Luis Suárez, who should leave the Camp Nou this summer.

It’s claimed Barcelona are already in touch with the Premier League side to know about the possibility of a deal for the 23-year-old.

As Ronald Koeman wants to rejuvenate their squad, replacing Suárez with Jesus would lower the age of their centre-forward by 10 years, since the Uruguayan star is already 33.

The information is published on the blog of Alexandre Lozzetti, who isn’t someone who’ll just write random transfer rumours. So this is definitely a story we should keep an eye from now on.

With the Catalan media all busy with Lionel Messi in the past 24 hours, perhaps it will take a while until new stories start coming out of Barcelona.

Globo Esporte’s report doesn’t say how much would Barça offer, or Manchester City demand, for Gabriel Jesus’ transfer.
