Feyenoord attacker Steven Berghuis has told the Dutch media he’s happy he is now starting to get playing time following his disappointments of last season. The 24-year-old is currently on loan with the Dutch giants from Watford for the season.

Voetbal Primeur have reported on comments Berguis made to Dutch TV when asked about how he’s settled in at Feyenoord. Berguis said it was great Feyenoord wanted to bring him in, and especially now he’s getting plenty of games. The winger went on to say since he headed back to the Netherlands he feels again valued as a footballer.

“They wanted me very much. For me it is great to play again every week. Whether I feel free is not quite the right word. Let me put it this way… I feel valued again as a footballer,” said Berghuis.

Berghuis signed for Watford last year from AZ, but made just nine Premier League appearances for the club. Since joining Feyenoord on loan the Dutchman has featured more regularly in the league and in Europe, compared to the last campaign.
