On Friday, Fanatik journalist Yakup Çınar reported Aston Villa officials were in Istanbul to hold talks with Galatasaray over a deal for Nicolò Zaniolo.

Later that day, Calciomercato.it stated the negotiations are ‘very hot’ and the Villans are progressing with confidence to get the deal over the line.

Calciomercato state Aston Villa’s efforts to sign the winger are ‘more than real’ and there are two key factors for them to push for this deal.

The first is the serious injury for Emiliano Buendía, and the Monchi factor is the second one. The Premier League side’s director signed the Italy international for AS Roma in 2018, when he was the Giallorossi sporting director.

Galatasaray are ‘not blocking’ the 24-year-old’s exit and this is thought to have been shown by leaving him out of the squad to face Kayserispor on Saturday. Claims of an injury aren’t not being taken seriously by the Turkish press.

Sport Mediaset say Aston Villa have sent an ‘official offer’ to the Istanbul club. They want to take him on loan [€3m loan fee] with a right to buy set at €20m plus €7m bonuses.

It’s now down to Galatasaray to make a decision.

Over at Hürriyet, they state the Turkish champions have rejected Aston Villa’s €30m package This has seen Unai Emery’s side make an improved proposal that includes a €5m loan fee with a option to buy set at €27m.

It’s stated Galatasaray are ‘evaluating the new offer’ made by Aston Villa but are not keen since it doesn’t include a mandatory purchase option.

Meanwhile, Calciomercato.it state the player ‘immediately said yes’ to the English club and the two parties are working to sort out the personal terms. It’s down to Aston Villa to agree a deal with Galatasaray for the transfer to take shape.
