Aston Villa midfielder Leander Dendoncker is seen as the ‘most suitable’ option in front of Fenerbahce as they look to sign a number six on deadline day of their transfer window.

That’s according to Haber Meydan, who say the Aston Villa man would be the most viable option in terms of cost.

The explain that Dendoncker is one of three names being targeted by the Turkish side, with board member Selahattin Baki continuing contacts with various clubs and agents in England.

Dendoncker is the cheapest option and also potentially available, as it’s stated Aston Villa don’t consider him part of their plans, which opens up the possibility of a loan deal.

However, there are doubts about whether the player fits into Fenerbahce’s system and it is those doubts which have stopped them from making an official approach to Aston Villa.

The Premier League side have, though, committed to contributing to the midfielder’s salary if he does go out on loan and so that could pave the way for a late deadline day move from Fenerbahce.

The idea is that they may make a move if they can’t secure any of their other targets first, something they may want to keep Dendoncker from learning as it is not entirely a ringing endorsement.
