Arsenal’s interest in Juventus’ Arthur Melo dates back to January when they tried signing him in the winter market.

The Gunners are reportedly back in the picture to make another attempt for the midfielder this summer. Three days ago, we covered multiple claims from Italy which stated Arsenal have resumed talks to sign the 25-year-old.

Massimiliano Allegri has left the Brazil international out of his squad for Juventus’ pre-season trip to the United States.

La Repubblica claim the Serie A side left some of their first-team players in Italy due to fitness concerns or for market reasons.

With the former Barcelona man, it is more to do with a transfer than physical problems. Arsenal are in the picture for him and the report states the ‘negotiations are in the take-off phase’ with the Gunners.

Over at Tutto Juve, they state the Old Lady are ‘willing to loan’ the South American to Mikel Arteta’s side.

It’s claimed Juve are hopeful that Arsenal will come forward to sign Arthur so that it can help the Turin club get rid of his salary and lighten their wage bill.
