Arsenal are ‘still interested’ in Juventus midfielder Arthur and could try to sign him again in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to journalist Niccolo Ceccarini, who says the Brazilian is ‘expected’ to leave Turin at some point.

Arsenal were keen on Arthur throughout the January transfer window as Mikel Arteta looked to add a midfielder to his squad in that window.

Negotiations were held with the Italian giants throughout the month, and at one point, it appeared a deal was close, only for things to stall and slowly fade away into nothing.

Artur ended up staying where he was, and Arsenal made do with their current squad, a decision that’s worked out well for them so far.

The midfielder, too, has been featuring regularly for Juventus, but Ceccarini states that is only a short-term thing.

According to his information, there will be ‘some disposals’ at Juventus this summer, and Arthur ‘is expected’ to be one of them.

That’s where Arsenal come into it, as they are ‘still interested’ and ‘could try again in the summer’ after their efforts earlier this year.

Now, there is no mention of any kind of negotiations taking place or what sort of figure that Juventus are looking for, just that the Gunners remain keen.

That makes sense given the effort they went to in January and the fact that their current midfield options of Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and Sambi Lokonga are hardly tearing it up either.

There’s obviously plenty of work to be done before a deal can be done, but Artur may be a name worth keeping an eye on the closer we get to the summer window opening.
