With Edu Gaspar still at the helm of transfer business at Arsenal, seeing the Gunners linked with Brazilians isn’t really a surprise.

The latest that can be added to a long list is Lucas Paqueta, who has been on the radar of Premier League clubs for a while now, ever since he made his breakthrough at Milan (and perhaps even before).

Currently at Lyon, the attacking midfielder recently lost his best friend, Bruno Guimaraes, to Newcastle’s riches, and Calciomercato in Italy believe a reunion in England could be on the cards thanks to Arsenal.

That is, at least, what they hinted at three days ago in a very brief article on their website, claiming both the Gunners and Paris Saint-Germain were after the Lyon midfielder.

Having scored eight goals in 29 appearances for the French side, there’s certainly a player in there to help Mikel Arteta’s side, which is why, three days later, the same website reckon Arsenal are ‘ready to challenge’ the Parisians for the 24-year-old in an equally as short article.

When it comes to these articles from Calciomercato, we tend to recommend taking them with a pinch of salt, because so few details are provided that it makes you wonder where the original information has come from.

Just a word of friendly advice for any Arsenal fans who might have been getting excited about it all, that’s all.
