With Sporting visiting Manchester City in the Champions League this week, newspaper Record features an interesting piece with the six players in the Lions’ squad who had some previous experience in English football.

Some of them still belong to Premier League clubs. One of them is João Virgínia, who has been loaned by Everton to the Lisbon side until the end of the season.

Now even though Sporting have a buying option over the goalkeeper, the chances of a permanent move are once again taken with a lot of pessimism.

When speaking of Virgínia, Record writes that it’s ‘even predictable’ that he’ll be back at Everton at the end of the season.

It was always known that Virgínia would arrive at Sporting to be their second goalkeeper. However, it seems the seven appearances he had for the club this season were not enough to convince them of going for the permanent move.

The agreement with Everton reportedly includes a buying option worth only €3.5m, and not even the low price is making Sporting convinced of the deal.
