Atlético Madrid star Thomas Partey has been regularly linked with Arsenal.

The Ghana international has a €50m release clause, and the La Liga side have no intention of offering any discount to the Gunners.

This is according to ASRomaLive.it, who state that Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen his side’s midfield, and the north London club have turned their attention towards AS Roma’s Amadou Diawara.

With Atlético unwilling to give any discount, Diawara is an ‘alternative’ target for the Premier League side.

It’s claimed that Arsenal have followed the 22-year-old before he joined the Giallorossi from Napoli last summer. The English side ‘came back to knock on the door’ of the Serie A side for the Guinea international.

The website adds the ‘initial budget for his signing is €25m’, and this could be what Arsenal value the player at.

Roma can ‘sacrifice’ either Diawara or Jordan Veretout this summer. The latter is attracting attention from AC Milan and Napoli.

ASRomaLive are of the belief the choice could fall on Diawara, mainly because he has a market in the Premier League, and they would not end up strengthening a rival.

However, Roma have slapped a base price of €30m on Diawara, and this is €5m more than what Arsenal value the defensive midfielder.
