Following all the rumours from last week linking Lyon midfielder Lucas Paquetá to Arsenal, we now get to see the chase backed up by claims from the Brazilian media.

On his YouTube channel, journalist Jorge Nicola lists the Gunners as one of the clubs who want to sign the 24-year-old this summer.

It’s said Arsenal’s interest comes ‘through Edu Gaspar’, pointing out that Paquetá would arrive at the club to replace Granit Xhaka, who’s ‘on his way out’ of the London side.

Nicola takes references from the French media to say that Lyon are expected to receive offers of €70m for the midfielder this summer, but the Ligue 1 side actually demand €80m to let him go.

Now to win this race, Arsenal wouldn’t only have to match Lyon’s demands.

They’d also need to beat the competition, as according to the report, the likes of Newcastle United and Paris Saint Germain are both interested in Paquetá as well.
