Everton midfielder Allan is ‘ready to free himself’ from the club this summer and perhaps reunite with Maurizio Sarri at Lazio.

That’s according to Il Messaggero, relayed by FC Inter 1908, who say the Italian side are planning a ‘revolution’ at the club next season.

One of their aims is to improve their midfield and any potential ‘zero parameter’ moves they can make to do so.

The ‘spotlight’ is currently on Matias Vecino at Inter Milan and Allan at Everton, with the latter ‘ready to free himself’ from Goodison Park in the summer after two years on Merseyside.

Reuniting with Sarri, under whom he played the best football of his career at Napoli, would make sense, and it seems they are looking at the possibility.

They seemingly want a free transfer or at least any deal that would mean they wouldn’t be paying this summer, but it’s hard to see Everton sanctioning that.

They paid £21.24m for Allan in September 2020 and would be keen to recoup as much of that as possible if they were to let him go this summer, particularly with their finances and Financial Fair Play situation as delicate as it is.

Of course, they do have the issue of Allan’s contract expiring in 2023, which means they will have to do something this summer.

A sale is looking increasingly likely, but it seems there is work to be done if they are to get Lazio to pay to reunite the Brazilian with Sarri.
