Arsenal have been repeatedly linked with Fabian Ruiz over the past year, however, there’s not been many claims on the move in recent weeks.

Napoli Piu bring things up to date, and say according to their own information, it’s Mikel Arteta’s side who are the ‘most interested’ in signing the midfielder.

He’s been linked to Barcelona previously as well, but with the options Xavi Hernandez has in midfield that seems an unlikely route right now for the Napoli player.

The 26-year-old has a contract which runs until June 2023, putting his club under some pressure. Without a renewal or sale this summer, the prospect of a free transfer next year grows, and Napoli clearly wouldn’t want that to happen.

Napoli fans are divided on the Spaniard, with some feeling he’s the ‘professor’ of his side’s midfield, and others feeling he’s too restricted and too one (left) footed.

According to the report, Napoli will sell if Arsenal, or anyone else, arrive with €40m. That’s a decent value deal, especially if, say, €5m can be knocked from the asking price.

Such a deal is available due to Ruiz’s contract situation, with previous claims stating the Italian side wanted quite a lot more.
