In June, we carried a report from Mundo Deportivo, who claimed Barcelona are aware of interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotpsur for Malcom.
Ernesto Valverde’s side are set to strengthen the squad in the summer transfer window by signing Antoine Griezmann and they could also bring Neymar back to the Camp Nou from Paris Saint-Germain.
La Liga allows clubs to have maximum of three non-EU players and Sport claims the Spanish champions have informed Malcom that he will have to leave the club if they sign Neymar.
At the Camp Nou, they are aware the Brazilian winger’s future is far away from the club and more so if Neymar returns. The negotiation for his exit is frozen as it’s impossible for them to move forward with the offers they have on the table.
Barca are aware the 22-year-old has a good market in England and Italy, and they could get an offer close to €40m. He is open to the idea of exit, but will decide his next destination depending on the sporting project.
The discrepancy between Malcom and Barca is that the player would prefer to leave on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
Sport says a move to Arsenal could be an option as Unai Emery’s side would bet on a temporary deal due to the budget constraints at the Emirates.
Apart from the Gunners, no other clubs get a mention in the report and Sport doesn’t give any indication the deal could be anywhere close to be being completed.
