Catalan newspaper Sport are reporting Mohamed Salah is a serious target for Barcelona ahead of the next summer window.
Sport explain that Barcelona have wanted to sign the Liverpool player previously, with Xavi Hernandez being keen when he was manager at the Camp Nou, and current president Joan Laporta even trying to use him as part of his leadership campaign in 2021.
There was no route for Barcelona to sign the player at that time, because they wouldn’t pay what Liverpool would have asked and also wouldn’t have matched the wages the Egyptian is currently on.
However, with the 32-year-old’s Liverpool contract expiring at the end of June, the transfer option is back on the table for the Blaugrana.
Sport report Salah is ‘willing to change teams’ and the Catalan newspaper states his transfer is now ‘feasible’.
That’ll be because of his upcoming free agent status.
There’s no indication just yet over what Barcelona would be prepared to offer Salah, and it’s accepted that Liverpool are fighting hard to try and secure him to a new contract.
