Barcelona are looking to raise funds this summer, and Malcom is one of the players who can help them.
Mundo Deportivo claim that in the offices of Camp Nou, they’re aware of the ‘interest’ from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the winger and the two clubs from north London have been in contact with the La Liga winners in recent weeks.
There’s no information from Mundo on any talks specifically about Malcom and certainly nothing about a potential offer from either side, so this all seems at the very initial stages.
Malcom’s agent Luis Fernando Menez Garcia will travel to Barcelona next week to ‘clarify his future’.
The club are said to ‘know’ of interest from Tottenham, and it’s not the first time they’ve been linked.
Mundo then point out Tottenham are continually in contact with Barca, but their reasoning doesn’t make a great deal of sense.
It’s claimed Spurs are one of the clubs most in contact with Barca, and that’s because Mauricio Pochettino is good friends with Ramon Planes, the assistant to Eric Abidal on transfers.
Should they just be chatting about the weather, it’s irrelevant, and there’s no claim they’ve been talking about a transfer.
The insinuation is that the friendship, and open line of contact, would help in a transfer.
However, it’s worth pointing out that this is all very vague.
