Despite Thomas Tuchel’s reluctance to confirm that the deal to sign Eric Dier from Tottenham is all but done as the player arrived for his medical in Germany, the media are convinced.

The latest update comes from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who explains that with the England international in the country to get tested, Bayern Munich are already planning the next steps.

Taking to X, he explains that the ‘announcement of the deal is prepared’, meaning that the Bundesliga side’s media team have done their job and are waiting for the green light to publish all they have on the transfer of the Tottenham defender.

First, though, the player will need to undergo his tests, with Bayern paying ‘less than €5m’ to get him six months before the end of his contract.

As for the deal he will sign, it’s believed it will be either a one and a half year (until 2025) or two and a half year (until 2026) in what is described as a ‘smart’ purchase from the Germans.

Plettenberg isn’t fully sure on that aspect, it seems, but the rest seems concrete, and Dier will soon no longer be a Tottenham player after many, many years of service in London following a 2014 transfer from Sporting CP.
