As the rumours of Matteo Darmian’s possible departure from Manchester United get bigger, the time has come for the player’s agent to have his say on the matter.
The agent claimed that maintaining his international status is one of the biggest concerns for the player right now, and confirmed that an Italian club has made an approach: “With José Mourinho, he’s playing little or nothing, if by January the situation will not be changed, then we’ll think of something.
“The boy will be under pressure, aware he’s not playing, could risk losing the place in he national team. Inter? They approached him.”
Matteo Darmian signed for Manchester United from Torino in 2015 for €18m. He made 39 appearances in his debut season under Louis van Gaal and initially looked to be a brilliant addition, but José Mourinho clearly sees Antonio Valencia as his preferred option.
The 26-year-old has only one appearance this season, playing the full 90 minutes against Feyenoord in the Europa League.
