With the end of the season not far away, it’s time for Barcelona and Manchester City to talk about João Cancelo’s future.

The fullback is loaned to the Catalan side until the end of the season, and it will soon be time to decide what to do with him.

Outlet Mundo Deportivo today shares a story claiming Barcelona president Joan Laporta welcomed agent Jorge Mendes to his house for a meeting about transfer business, and the Manchester City player was one of the subjects.

The report claims that Barça’s intention is to keep Cancelo on another loan, and the reason for that is they can’t afford the purchase now.

Manchester City are said to be demanding €30m for the fullback. The argument the La Liga side would use to keep him on a temporary deal is that the player doesn’t want to return to his club.

Pep Guardiola’s side are also counting on Cancelo’s exit, and will wait for more offers in the summer. In case no other interested parties show up, they may be forced to agree a new loan with Barcelona.
