Earlier this week, we covered a story in DH regarding the future of David Moyes, now West Ham manager, target Lukasz Teodorczyk at Anderlecht, and the likelihood of him leaving in January.
The Belgian side were said to be looking for a new striker as their Polish star is suffering something of a confidence crisis at the moment, and there was a chance such an arrival would lead to his exit.
However, Het Nieuwsblad in Belgium on Friday say that Hein Vanhaezebrouck, Anderlecht’s manager, has put a new striker transfer on the back burner for now, mostly because Teodorczyk is a solid member of his dressing room and everyone likes him.
That doesn’t mean, however, that an exit isn’t completely off the cards, as Anderlecht are said to ‘regret’ rejecting the €7m offer in the summer from Fenerbahce, as they know they might struggle to get that much for him now.
If that is indeed the case, perhaps a change of scenery, especially with a World Cup to play for this summer, is exactly what Teodorczyk needs, and this is where David Moyes and West Ham, who are ALWAYS on the lookout for a new goalscorer could get a cheap bargain.
At this point, it seems that if Anderlecht get anything above the €4.5m they originally paid Dynamo Kiev for him, they’ll be happy.
And what is €4.5m to a club like West Ham? Considering their need for a new striker, it’s worth the gamble.
