A Leicester City transfer could just have made a significant development.
Portuguese midfielder Adrien Silva has been authorised to leave the national squad for one day, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reports.
They claim the information came from the Portuguese Football Federation, as the player was missing tonight’s game anyway, and is now free to solve a ‘professional situation’.
The reason why he was given such authorisation is still unclear, but the outlet obviously recalls Sporting currently have a bid for the player.
This offer comes from Leicester City, who as reported by the same website, have made a €15m bid for Adrien Silva. The Foxes’ intention to make an attempt today had already been reported by Portuguese newspaper Record this morning.
Adrien Silva was very close to joining Leicester City this time last year, when the club had offered €30m for him. But Sporting stopped the deal at the last minute, saying he wouldn’t leave for less than his release clause, which stands at €45m.
