Leeds United new signing Pawel Cibicki has given an emotional farewell to Malmo and the club’s fans.

Today it was officially confirmed the 23 year old has signed for the Championship side.

Malmo have released a statement from Cibicki, who seems quite emotional following his Leeds United transfer: “Like all the good tales, everything has come to an end, Malmo will always be the city in my heart and Malmo FF as well. We have had a long trip together and I’m sure we’ll see you again on a beautiful day. I would like to thank all the supporters, all my coaches over the years and everyone else in the association. My heart is 💙 and remains sky blue.”

Like his new teammate Pontus Jansson, it seems Cibicki holds a lot of admiration for Malmo. Jansson is often seen at Malmo’s games, and he’s spoken in the past about finishing his career with the Swedish side.

Cibicki has signed a four year contract with Leeds United for a fee in the region of £1.9m. The Swede has been in talks with Leeds United in recent days, and last night it emerged an agreement had been found.

His agent has confirmed to the Swedish press that Leeds United will play him as a central attacker, rather than on the wing.
