AIK midfielder Anton Salétros has told the Swedish media he’s been impressed with the emergence of Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yasin Ayari.

Following loan spells with Blackburn Rovers and Coventry City in the past couple of seasons the youngster has started to get game time in this campaign with the Seagulls.

Speaking to Fotboll Direkt, Salétros was asked about the former AIK’s midfielder call up for Sweden and his thoughts on the player.

The 28-year-old believes Ayari has the attributes to be a top central midfielder and has seen evidence of that during the Swedish training camps.

“He has the whole package, without the ball he is very aggressive and wins a lot of duels, even though he does not have the biggest “size” he is all in in all situations. What stands out about him is that he is not afraid of anything and wants the ball in all situations, he is a very good player,” said the Swedish international.

Ayari is in line to add to his four international caps when Sweden take on Slovakia tomorrow, followed by a trip to Estonia next week. The 21-year-old started the last UEFA Nations League games against Estonia and Azerbaijan.

Ayari has been involved in five of Brighton’s seven Premier League games this season and started in the 0-0 draw with Ipswich Town. He’s contracted to the English side until June 2027.
